The South Pole Paloma

This classic twist on the Paloma (which is really just changing the name of it) will keep you happy and cool as a grapefruit. This is the elastic pants of the cocktail list with adjustable soda levels to suit your needs.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 4 oz freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • A dash of Agave Syrup
  • Soda
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare your glass by placing it in the freezer to chill. It’s a South Pole Paloma after all.
  2. If you are adding sugar or salt to the rim, remember to do this first, not afterwards like I try to do three Paloma’s down. Rub a lime wedge along the edge and dip into a small plate of sugar.
  3. Remove the glass from the freezer – obviously. Add ice to the glass. Pour in the tequila and lime juice.
  4. Add the grapefruit and as much or as little soda as you like. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge, grapefruit slice or miniature snowman if you have one handy.
